Playing as a group

This free memory game for seniors works well on a TV or projector at a senior center, library or care home. Take turns calling out two card numbers, or play in teams and keep score of the pairs each team finds. Talking about the pictures (โ€œWho grew tomatoes?โ€) turns a game into a good conversation.

Prefer paper? Print the matching cards below and play at the table.

Questions

Is this memory game really free?

Yes. It is free to play as often as you like. There is nothing to download or install, no account to make, and no ads popping up over the cards.

Do I need to download an app?

No. The game works right on this web page, on a computer, tablet, iPad or phone. Just tap or click the cards.

How do you play a memory matching game?

All the cards start face down. Turn over two cards. If they show the same picture, they stay face up. If not, they turn back over, and you try to remember where each picture was. Keep going until you have found every pair.

Is there a timer?

No. You can take as long as you like. The game only counts how many turns you take, so you can try to beat your own score if you want to.

What if the game is too hard?

Start with Easy, which has just 8 cards. You can also tap โ€œPeek at all cardsโ€ to see every picture for a moment, and keep โ€œShow words on cardsโ€ turned on so each picture has a large word under it.

Can I use it at a senior center or library?

Yes. Put the game on a big screen and let the group call out which cards to turn over, or print the matching cards below for a table game. Please donโ€™t sell the cards.

Will memory games prevent dementia?

We canโ€™t promise that, and you should be careful of any site that does. This game is meant to be relaxing and fun. If you are worried about memory changes, talk with your doctor.
